Gifts from Fairies Blog
Easter gifts with a difference
I love this time of year. It's so good to see all the 'signs of Spring' - new growth in the garden, tree blossom, spring flowers, new lambs, longer days.... Then there's Easter, the subject of my last blog - Easter, Fairy Interesting Things.
I went to the supermarket today to do a big food shop (my pet hate) and was immediately faced with a fantastic display of, well, Easter! Cards, gifts, sweets, biscuits, cakes and more types of chocolate egg than you could ever imagine. I was literally spoilt for choice so didn't actually put any of it in my trolley! I will go back and buy chocolate Easter eggs for family but as you know, I like to give gifts with a difference so will be attaching some of our Tiny Glitter Birds Hanging Decorations to make them a bit special.
I'll be entertaining some of the family to afternoon tea on Easter Sunday so want to have some nice decorations for the occasion. I'm going to be true to my name (Creative!) and make an Easter tree for the table. I've gathered some twigs and plan to paint them white before arranging them in a vase. Then I can hang up some tiny birds and also our lovely Wooden Easter Egg Decorations to make a nice display.
For the windowsill I think the Easter Frieze Decoration will be perfect. All of these hand painted items are such lovely quality that they will become an annual feature in our house. I love tradition and having particular pieces that only come out on special occasions - can't wait to start my 'Easter Box'!
Our Easter Sunday afternoon tea will include seasonal favourites such as Simnel Cake and hot cross buns but I'll be making lemon cupcakes as well to show off these fab wee daisy picks.
I have a beautiful vintage cream silk damask tablecloth that usually only comes out at Christmas but along with all my new Easter decorations I think it should become part of our new spring tradition.
After tea we're going to have an Egg Hunt, mainly for Princess Fairy but there are a few 'big kids' who will no doubt want to be included! Ideally we'll be doing this in the garden and enjoying some spring sunshine but if turns out to be April showers we can hide some eggs indoors. To collect her eggs I'm going to give PF this really pretty Easter Basket which again is beautifully made and will no doubt be used for years to come.
Can't wait! Hope you all have a fabulous Easter and enjoy creating some new traditions of your own.
