Gorgeous Room AccessoriesWe are delighted to open this new category with the stunningly elegant Birds Unlimited seagulls, hand carved from solid English hardwood. We met maker Brian Dawson at the Scottish Trade Fair and were immediately drawn to his amazing display of beautifully made flying birds, each suspended from the ceiling as though in flight. It was impossible to resist the hand-turned bobbin pull attached to each bird which operates the cleverly engineered flying mechanism. The birds are beautifully made resulting in a truly unique decorative piece. Each wing is individually cut from a single piece of kiln dried hardwood meaning that the grain follows the contours of the wood to stunning effect. Each pair of wings is individually balanced with the body; this is an important part of the process as each piece of wood is unique in weight and characteristics. The wood is then sealed with lacquer, sanded and hand polished with wax to allow the natural beauty of the wood to shine through.There are 7 products in this category.
